Trailblazing producer Illstrtd continues to impress with his new mixtape, #throwbacktothe90s. The free release features four seminal R’n’B tracks taken from the decade, and remixed by the Melbourne, Victoria based musician.

Blackstreet’s groundbreaking tune “No Diggity ft Dr Dre and Queen Pen”; TLC’s empowering “No Scrub”; Ms Janet Jackson’s “Love Will Never Do”; and lastly Ginuwine’s multi-platinum selling “Pony” all get a lick of fresh paint thanks to Illstrtd’s fascination with the sub genre, which emerged out of the United States in the 1990s.

Having earned his stars on the Melbourne music scene, Illstrtrd has become well known for his original, beat driven material. Unsurprisingly, he’s gone down well with the press, and so far garnered support from The 405, Ear Milk, and home town blog Me and All My Friends – as well as recent success on YouTube and Soundcloud. Following the release of a string of demos, including breakthrough hit “Violet Sunset”, it was a collaboration with Mack Moses for electric track “Pictures Don’t Fade” that sealed the young artist’s status as a rising star, and a showcase feature on Spotify following 200k streams.

Putting his hand to the seminal R’n’B tracks, Illstrtd proves his spots by honouring well loved melodies while still making his own impression. #throwbacktothe90s is the perfect dance floor fire starter, with a pulsing beat running throughout.
