AIAIAI TMA-2 Modular Headphones

AIAIAIs TMA-2 Modular Headphones were one of the hottest pieces of audio equipment on the market in 2015.

With 360 unique configurations of cables, headbands, speakers, and earpads, you will have the freedom to build a perfect pair of headphones that will suit your needs whether you are a DJ, sound engineer, or an entry-level audiophile.

AIAIAI made a list of every possible sound profile setup with a description of how each should sound. There are 20 different configurations on the list that you can build from scratch.

You may also consider buying one of four “starter” presets that include the DJ, Studio, Young Guru, and “all-rounder” varieties. The beauty of these headphones is that you don’t have to be stuck with one particular sound profile forever. You can mix and match the components to build as many setups as you need.

With individual component’s price starting at $35(for pads and bands) and $50 for speaker units, you can build several variations at a reasonable cost.

It is worth noting that AIAIAI has an online interactive tool called ‘Configurator‘ that provides a description for each combination of components, its sound profile, frequency response, and specs, so you can make sure that you are not buying a pig in a poke. However, even after doing your homework if you are still not satisfied with your selected configuration, AIAIAI gives you 30 days to test your setup and return it.

TMA-2 Modular Headphones

The TMA-2 Modular Headphones takes all the good things from the TMA-1 and improves on them even further. Modular system improves durability of your headphones because you don’t have to buy a new set when one of your components get broken; just replace the lost or not working component for $20-$50, and you can continue using your headphones. This TMA-2’s advantage should be especially appreciated by artists and DJs who travel and play at different shows on a regular basis.
