Dutch duo releases Spanish version of hit record ’18 Plus’
Dutch DJ/producer duo Afro Bros has signed a deal with Spinnin’ Records. After scoring a huge hit with their track ’18 Plus’, the guys now kick off a fresh new phase in their career with this record deal, releasing a Spanish version of ’18 Plus’ on Friday March 17th.
Afro Bros (Rashid Badloe and Giordano Ashruf) kicked off its DJ career around 2006. Quickly, the duo made itself known with its fresh mix of music styles, mixing latin house, afro house, moombahton, house and urban, playing some of the most well known clubs and festivals in Europe.
Producing their own records meant a new chapter in the guys’ career, scoring their first commercial success in 2010 with ‘Dubbelfriss’, followed by more singles, remixes and bootlegs. This resulted in millions of worldwide streams and downloads, including support from artists like Major Lazer, Diplo, DJ Chuckie, Hardwell and Carnage, while the duo itself starting performing internationally, touring from Europe and Africa to Asia and South America.
After five years touring, the Afro Bros decided to bring something new and released ’18 Plus’, an urban song with extremely catchy chords starting out as a joke, resulting in a global hit tune. By now, the video is counting over four million views, soon to be released in a Spanish version under the fresh record deal with Spinnin’ Records.
“It feels very great, we have reached a lot of targets in our careers and signing at Spinnin’ Records was definitely one of them!”, says Afro Bros. “We’d like to continue to reach a worldwide audience with the unique music style we aim for. Starting with the Spanish version of ’18 Plus’ featuring Ghetto Flow, released March 17th on Spinnin’ Records.”
